The Registration Service is responsible for providing statutory registrations of births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships as well as non-statutory services including baby naming, renewal of vows and citizenship ceremonies.  

The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of a part time deputy registrar (28 hours), working as part of a small friendly team, based at our new offices at 1 Time Square in Warrington Town Centre.

You will be providing a statutory service on behalf of the Registrar General and Warrington Borough Council, for the people of Warrington, registering births, supporting bereaved families and sharing in the celebrations of ceremonies. The successful candidate will report directly to the Registrar and Superintendent Registrar.

What's needed?

The successful candidate will be a team player with proven customer service experience and be confident in public speaking.  Accuracy, attention to detail, tact, patience and empathetic skills are absolutely crucial to this role. A full driving licence, along with access to a car, is essential as you will be travelling to licensed venues throughout Warrington in the provision of ceremonies. Doctors, midwives, ministers of religion, funeral directors and anyone working in the life assurance industry will not be considered for this role.
